Aryn M. Kamerer, Ph.D., Principal Investigator
Dr. Kamerer received a B.A. in Speech-Language-Hearing and Ph.D. in Audiology from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS, in 2010 and 2017, respectively, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Boys Town in 2021. Aryn is a Research Scientist and Director of the Hearing Health and Physiology Laboratory at Boys Town National Research Hospital. Her research, supported by grants from the NIH-NIDCD, focuses on understanding suprathreshold hearing deficits in individuals with normal hearing, and the development of measures to differentially diagnose sensorineural hearing loss.
Sara E. Harris, Au.D., Research Audiologist
Dr. Harris received a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Kansas State University in 2011, and a M.S. and Au.D. in Audiology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2014 and 2015, respectively. She completed postdoctoral training at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2017. Sara has been a Research Audiologist at Boys Town National Research Hospital since 2017. In addition to her responsibilities as lab manager, Sara collaborates on a variety of human studies on adults with normal and impaired hearing to understand the consequences of altered auditory processes and to develop strategies for remediation.
Benjamin Kohlmeier, Research Assistant
Benjamin Kohlmeier received a B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University and has been a research assistant at Boys Town National Research Hospital since 2021. His role in the lab is to help facilitate recruitment, data collection, and general lab maintenance.
