Aryn M. Kamerer, Ph.D. 

Aryn M. Kamerer, Ph.D., Principal Investigator

Dr. Kamerer received a B.A. in Speech-Language-Hearing and Ph.D. in Audiology from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS, in 2010 and 2017, respectively, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Boys Town in 2021. Aryn is a Research Scientist and Director of the Hearing Health and Physiology Laboratory at Boys Town National Research Hospital. Her research, supported by grants from the NIH-NIDCD, focuses on understanding suprathreshold hearing deficits in individuals with normal hearing, and the development of measures to differentially diagnose sensorineural hearing loss. ​

Sara E. Harris, Au.D. 

Sara E. Harris, Au.D., ​Research Audiologist

Dr. Harris received a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Kansas State University in 2011, and a M.S. and Au.D. in Audiology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2014 and 2015, respectively. She completed postdoctoral training at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2017. Sara has been a Research Audiologist at Boys Town National Research Hospital since 2017. In addition to her responsibilities as lab manager, Sara collaborates on a variety of human studies on adults with normal and impaired hearing to understand the consequences of altered auditory processes and to develop strategies for remediation.

Benjamin Kohlmeier 

Benjamin Kohlmeier, ​Research Assistant

Benjamin Kohlmeier received a B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University and has been a research assistant at Boys Town National Research Hospital since 2021. His role in the lab is to help facilitate recruitment, data collection, and general lab maintenance.
