Development of Functional Spatial Hearing in Reverberation with and without Hearing Loss
In this study, we ask the following questions:
- How do children with normal hearing develop spatial hearing in reverberant environments, e.g., classrooms?
- What are the individual variabilities in children with normal hearing and children with bilateral cochlear implant when they use auditory spatial cues distorted by reverberation?
This work is funded by the NIH National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIH-NIDCD/R21DC020532)
Cortical Processing during Comprehension of Reverberant Speech
In this study, we ask these two questions.
- How do children with normal hearing and those with cochlear implants process speech distorted by reverberation?
- What are the neural markers that underpin listening effort in children?
This work is generously funded by the Hearing Health Foundation.
